What do you need to work as an escort

Register and work as an escort or gigolo

Prostitution in the Netherlands is completely legal. Therefore, you could freely practice this profession just like any other profession in the country, paying relevant taxes and contributions to the state. At the same time, you could take advantage of all the benefits and protections that all working citizens in the Netherlands enjoy. You are entitled to medical assistance, paid leave, pension, etc.

The purpose of this material is to introduce you to the most important rights and obligations of a sex worker at a Dutch agency like UberGirls.

 Basic requirements for job applicants:

1. You must be 18 years of age or 21 in Amsterdam.
2. Valid residence permits in the Netherlands (without tourist visa).
3. You are not forced to work as a sex worker and you are not forced to transfer your money to a third party.
4. Practicing in a place licensed for such activity (best contact established in the field agency as UberGirls).

Address registration

Address registration is required. It is performed at the General Municipal Administration (GBA), also known as the Personal Records Database (BRP) in the Netherlands. This is a register that contains data for anyone who lives or has lived in the country. Of course, you can use your own address to register. But it is also allowed to use the address of a friend, for example. Of course, to do this you will need permission from your friend. Learn more about address registration here.

Citizen Service Number (BSN)

The Citizen Service Number (BSN) is required when starting a job, opening a bank account, using your health insurance, and more. As soon as you register with the GBA, you will receive your personal BSN. Note: If you have a BSN, this does not mean that you will pay tax immediately. For this, you need to register separately with the tax authorities.
