Address registration

Address registration is required. It is performed at the General Municipal Administration (GBA), also known as the Personal Records Database (BRP) in the Netherlands. This is a register that contains data for anyone who lives or has lived in the country. Of course, you can use your own address to register. But it is also allowed to use the address of a friend, for example. Of course, to do this you will need permission from your friend. Learn more about address registration here.

Citizen Service Number (BSN)

The Citizen Service Number (BSN) is required when starting a job, opening a bank account, using your health insurance, and more. As soon as you register with the GBA, you will receive your personal BSN. Note: If you have a BSN, this does not mean that you will pay tax immediately. For this, you need to register separately with the tax authorities.

Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel, KVK)
